My old foreman told me he lays 400 brick a day at 62 and I've been second guessing my whole setup since
Ran into my first foreman, Dale, at a job site in Columbus last month and he said he still lays about 400 brick a day at 62 years old. I asked how his back holds up and he said he switched to a lighter trowel and stopped rushing the mortar boards years ago. Back when I worked under him in 2009 we were pushing 600 a day on a rush job and I felt like a machine. Now I'm 41 and my wrists ache by Thursday, so I've been trying his slower pace for the past three weeks. Honestly the wall comes out cleaner and I'm not wrecked by Friday afternoon. Anyone else here drop their daily count on purpose and actually feel better for it?
