Half my crew showed up with new jointers after I switched my mortar mix
Tbh I never thought the mud made that big a difference until last month on a retaining wall job in Spokane. I swapped from the bagged blend I always used to a sharper, washed sand mix with a bit more lime. By day three, the joints were curing flatter and my guys stopped fighting the trowel so much. One of them even timed it, we laid about 20% more block per hour once the crew got used to the feel. Has anyone else seen that kind of shift just from changing the sand source or ratio?
