Unpopular opinion: The new succulent display at the Denver Botanic Gardens is a mess
They've got these gorgeous echeverias just crammed next to a bunch of thirsty ferns... the watering needs are totally off. Has anyone else seen a setup that just makes you cringe?

Group them by water needs, even if it looks a bit less pretty.

Yeah, the "watering needs are totally off" part is the real problem. Read a piece by a horticulturist once that called these mismatched plantings "aesthetic over care." They look cool in a photo but set the plants up to fail. One side will always be stressed, either too dry or rotting. Seems lazy from a garden that should know better.
