PSA: a single sundew in my terrarium caught 14 gnats in one week and I counted every one

The thing nobody talks about with sundews is what happens after they catch all those bugs. Each leaf only has so many tentacles and once they curl over a catch they stay wrapped for days. So you get this weird math where a plant with 6 leaves can really only process maybe 6 to 8 gnats a week max before it runs out of open spots. Meaning your 14 in one week is probably close to the ceiling for that plant. If your gnat problem keeps going you might hit a wall where the sundew is full and the gnats just walk around on it. Gross but also kind of funny to picture.
