Rant: spent 2 hours on a dead pet supply site from 2003 and found a page that just lists cat names
I was digging through old link pages last Tuesday night, looking for weird sites nobody knows about, and I landed on this pet store page last updated in 2003. The owner had a section called Our Customers' Cats, and it was just a plain list of 61 cat names with no photos or anything. Names like Mr. Wiggles, Biscuit, and one cat listed only as The Colonel. I clicked around for 2 hours because the navigation was all tiny blue text links and half of them went to 404s. The contact page had an AOL email and a phone number with a 317 area code, so I called it as a joke and a guy actually picked up. He sounded confused and said he sold the store in 2008 and had no idea the site was still up. I told him about the cat list and he laughed, then said The Colonel was his mom's cat. I screenshotted all 61 names before the page could vanish. Does anyone else call numbers off dead sites, or is that just me being nosy?

A cat listed only as The Colonel is peak naming and I respect it. Honestly the weirdest part is that the guy actually picked up and his mom's cat was on a dead site for 20 years. That's not nosy, that's real detective work.
