Blew a full Saturday digging through the Wayback Machine for a dead forum
I spent last Saturday hunting down a forum thread about lawnmower blade sharpening from 2004, just because some guy in a YouTube comment said it had the perfect angle chart. The Wayback Machine only saved the homepage and the login page, so I couldn't actually see the post. Has anyone else ever wasted a whole afternoon chasing a dead link from a random forum?

Tbh, I feel your pain on this one. I once spent a solid 5 hours digging through Geocities archives for a knitting pattern from 1998 that some lady swore had the perfect cable stitch instructions. All I found were like 12 broken image links and a guestbook with one entry from someone named "Xx_DragonSlayer_xX" asking if anyone had cheat codes for Doom. Honestly, the Wayback Machine is a cruel mistress sometimes. It gives you just enough hope with that one saved page to keep you clicking for hours. But hey, at least we know we're not alone in this weird hobby of digital archaeology, right?
