Showerthought: the guy who sharpens mower blades at the hardware store in Bend saved my Saturday
Blew the drive belt on my 20 year old mower mid cut and the deck was packed with wet grass, so I hauled the blade in to get it touched up while I waited on parts. The guy behind the counter, Ray, has been balancing blades there for 11 years and he spun mine on a little cone, said it was off by a quarter ounce on one side. He ground it, handed it back, charged me $6. I bolted it on and the wobble I had blamed on a bent spindle just vanished. Has anyone else had a small shop fix the cheap stuff nobody else will touch?
