Serious question, is anyone else's PVA getting cloudy after a week? Just swapped brands and same thing happening
I noticed my last few batches of bookcloth came out with white spots after sitting for a week. Switched from Lineco to a generic archival PVA from a local art store in Portland and still getting the same cloudy residue on the spines. Turns out it was the humidity in my basement workshop - above 60% makes the glue cure weird and turn milky. Got a dehumidifier last Tuesday and the new batch looks perfect now. Anyone else deal with this or am I the only one storing glue in a damp room?

Hold on, humidity above 60% does that? Honestly had no idea moisture could turn PVA cloudy, that explains so much about my last few projects.

Nah I gotta push back on that a bit. I've had PVA glue sitting out in 70% humidity before and it came out just fine, no cloudiness at all. Maybe it's more about how fast it dries or what brand you're using because I swear some of those cheap craft store bottles are just cursed to go cloudy no matter what.
