Pro tip: skip the $60 corner cutting jig, mine sits on the shelf next to my excuses
I picked up one of those fancy corner cutting jigs at the Atlanta book fair a while back and honestly it was a waste of $60. The blade wandered on every board I tried, and I got cleaner corners freehanding my 1890s ledger repair with just a sharp knife and a metal straight edge. What actually changed my mind was watching a binder at the Nashville guild meeting cut 40 boards in a row with nothing but a ruler and steady hands. So now the jig is a paperweight and I want to know, has anyone here actually made one of those things work, or is it just me?
