Hit 100 perfect spines this morning without even noticing

I was just counting up my completed projects from the past year and realized I hit 100 case bindings with clean, square spines. That number surprised me because I still feel like a beginner every time I pick up my bone folder. Has anyone else lost track of their milestones because you were too focused on the next book?

Honestly, I used to roll my eyes at people counting spines. Thought it was just some weird flex, you know? But then I had a day where I stacked up all my finished books from the last few months and counted them out of curiosity. Ngl, seeing that number on paper actually hit different. Changed my whole perspective on the grind. It's not about bragging, it's just a quiet proof that you're actually getting somewhere even when it feels like you're stuck. Tbh, I get why you wouldn't notice it happening.

People saying it was just a weird flex made me feel the same for a long time. Then I grabbed a pile off my nightstand one weekend just to see how many I actually got through in a year. Seeing that stack, some skinny paperbacks and a couple chunky hardbacks, really put things in perspective for me. It wasn't about showing off, it was just a little concrete proof that all those late nights and early mornings paid off. That number can be quiet motivation when you don't feel like you're making progress. Your mileage may vary, but it shifted my thinking for sure.
