I still think stick welding beats MIG for outdoor work

Been hearing a lot of guys swear by MIG for everything lately, but I had a job last spring repairing a grain silo out in Kansas where the wind was gusting 25 mph. My MIG setup couldn't keep a decent bead to save my life, kept getting porosity from the draft. Swapped over to 7018 rods on my old Lincoln and laid down clean passes no problem. Am I the only one who thinks stick still has its place when conditions get rough?

High wind is exactly what stick was made for. Tried doing some fence repairs with flux core on a breezy day and it was a mess, switched to 6010 and never looked back.

Respectfully disagree, 6010 still gives me trouble in real wind even with a tight arc.
