That guy who 'helps' with every game at the store...
Last month at the game cafe downtown, this regular kept jumping in to 'clarify' rules for new players during a game of Root. He ended up confusing everyone so bad they quit after 20 minutes. Has anyone else had a self-appointed game explainer ruin a session for you?

Honestly sounds like the group bailed more cause they couldn't handle the game than cause of that one guy. Root is a mess of a rulebook even for experienced players. The dude probably thought he was helping and just made it worse, but 20 minutes is a real short fuse. People quit games all the time when they're not feeling it, and it's easier to blame the loud guy than admit the game's too much. Give me a boring explainer over a silent table where nobody knows what's going on any day.
