We were playing Wingspan at the shop on 5th and I kept stopping the table to explain every card interaction before anyone could even ask. My friend Dave finally said "dude, let us mess up and learn it our own way" and honestly the next two rounds ran way smoother. Since then I just teach the basic turn and let people figure out the rest, and new folks actually come back the next week now. I used to think front loading every rule made me a good teacher but it was really just me wanting to feel in control. Anyone else had a regular call them out on this? How do you balance teaching enough without dumping the whole rulebook on people?
