PSA: That tiny blog about masonry repair in Ohio saved me $3,000 on a foundation job last month
Look, I know it sounds crazy, but hear me out. I stumbled on this blogger in Columbus who just posts about old brick and block fixes, no fancy layout or anything. Had a crack in my basement wall that a local contractor wanted $4,500 to fix. This guy's blog walked me through diagnosing it as a simple settling issue with a specific epoxy injection method. Spent about $600 on materials and a weekend afternoon. The before was a 3-foot hairline crack, the after is a sealed line you barely see. The timeframe was literally 6 hours of work. The cause was just reading through his step-by-step from 2017. Has anyone else found a niche blog that bailed them out of a big repair bill?

Man, that's such a win, love when the little guy beats the system like that.

Actually that wasn't really the "little guy" in this case since the company he sued had way less money than his backers.
