I noticed my favorite obscure blog changed its writing style after 8 months

There's this blog about abandoned gas stations in the Midwest that I've followed since 2021. The first 8 months had these long detailed posts with 20 photos each and tons of history about each place. Then suddenly around last June, the posts got shorter and started sounding more like listicles with just 3 paragraphs and stock photos. I think the owner must have gotten tired of spending 5 hours researching each station because the quality drop was really obvious. Has anyone else seen a blog you loved completely shift its tone like that?

I read once that most blogs lose their steam after about a year when the owner burns out.

That 12 month burnout mark is brutal for so many bloggers. I've seen like 10 different creator friends hit that exact wall where they realize they're posting 3 times a week and getting zero comments or shares anymore. The problem is most people start a blog thinking it's gonna be this fun hobby but then it turns into a second job with no paycheck. You gotta have a real plan for sustainability from day one like batch writing content or setting a realistic posting schedule. Some of the best blogs I follow only post once every two weeks and they're still going strong after 5 years. It's the constant pressure to keep up with the algorithm that really kills the passion.
