I finally saw what happens when you ignore SEO for 6 months on a niche blog
Went from 200 daily readers to 12 after I stopped updating my old Costa Rica travel blog for half a year because Google just buried everything I wrote under newer posts with fresher content, so has anyone else seen their traffic nosedive that fast after taking a break?

Wait, only 12 from 200 in just six months?? That's brutal. I guess google really does just yeet you into oblivion if you don't keep feeding the algorithm beast.

That just proves you can't sit back and let your old content do the work for you forever, right? I mean google is basically forcing you to keep churning stuff out or they punish you by dropping your rankings. It's like having a boss that fires you if you stop showing up to a job you already finished. Feels like the days of just writing one good article and coasting are long gone.
