Hot take: That popular blog about minimalist living actually made my life harder
A blogger named Jenna from The Simple Life Space kept saying to get rid of everything you haven't used in 6 months. I followed her advice and tossed my camping gear in 2022. Then my brother invited me on a trip to Lake Tahoe last July and I had to rent everything for $200 more than if I'd just kept it. Has anyone else gotten bad advice from a niche blog that sounded great but backfired?

Honestly, I had a similar issue with that blog's "one in one out" rule for clothes. I got rid of a warm jacket I barely wore, then regretted it during a cold snap and had to buy a worse one for twice the price.
