Had someone on here tell me my hiking blog was too wordy - now I cut every post by half

I started a blog about hiking trails in New England like 3 years ago. Didnt think anyone read it. Then out of the blue someone left a comment saying my posts were way too long and they just wanted trail conditions and distance not a whole nature essay. At first I was pissed but then I looked back and yeah I was writing paragraphs about trees. So now I post just the hard facts plus one tip I learned. Traffic is up a bit. Anybody else get feedback that forced them to change their whole thing?

You bet. Had a similar thing happen with my photo sharing account. Was putting long stories with every picture and someone basically told me nobody cares, just post the photo. Trimmed everything down to a short caption and my followers doubled in a month. Funny how the harsh comments sometimes end up being the most helpful ones once you get over the sting.
