Gas forge or coal forge? I switched after 5 years and it changed my setup

I ran a coal forge for 5 years in my shop near Columbus, loved the heat control but hated the smoke and cleanup. Last spring I bought a used gas forge, a two burner model, and now I'm faster but I miss the subtle heat zones coal gives you for detailed work. Which do you stick with for everyday projects, gas or coal, and why?
