TIL my weirdest bookmark is a 2011 forum thread that took me 4 hours to find again after I lost it
Okay so this is gonna sound dumb but I need to vent. Like 6 years ago I bookmarked this super random forum thread about a guy in Ohio who built a full size replica of the Mystery Machine in his garage, and I never cleaned up my bookmarks so it just sat there forever. Well my laptop died in March and I lost everything, and for some reason I could NOT stop thinking about that thread. I tried searching for it maybe 30 different ways on Google over like 3 weeks and kept getting nothing but Pinterest reposts and dead links. What finally cracked it was when I remembered the guy's username had the word "scooby" in it and he posted from a town called Lima, so I searched those two things together and boom, there it was on page 4 of results. Whole thing took me 4 hours that night plus weeks of on and off searching, which is insane for something I could not even explain why I wanted. Anyway now I have it saved in like 3 places and I finally get why people here say bookmarks are like little time capsules. Anyone else ever hunt down a single dead link like it owed you money?
