TIL a librarian in Boise showed me her bookmark folder called 'DO NOT OPEN' and it had 412 links
I was at the Boise Public Library downtown branch last Tuesday asking about their old microfilm setup, and the librarian, Dana, pulled up her own browser to look something up. She had a folder named 'DO NOT OPEN' right in her bookmarks bar, so of course I asked, and she laughed and said it was 412 random links she saved over 8 years and never deleted. She clicked it open and it was stuff like a live webcam of a puffin burrow in Iceland and a site that plays one random dial tone from 1987. Now I want to know, does anyone else have a bookmark folder they're scared to clean out?
Made a folder called "someday" three years ago thinking I'd actually read all that stuff, now it's 200 tabs of half-finished articles I keep telling myself I'll get to. Just renamed it "never" and moved on with my life.
