Three years ago I bookmarked a page about a town that never existed and forgot about it until I cleaned my bookmarks yesterday
So back in 2022 I fell down a rabbit hole about fake towns and saved this one page to my bookmarks bar, then never looked at it again. Yesterday I finally went through my bookmarks because the bar was so full the icons were just dots, and there it was between a recipe for cornbread and a page about car insurance. The site is for a town called Argleton that showed up on Google Maps in England years back but doesn't actually exist, and the whole page is just people posting photos of the empty field where the map said the town was. I sat there for like 40 minutes reading about how people made fake businesses and a fake Facebook group for a place with zero buildings. It was 2am when I finally closed the tab and I don't even remember why I cared so much back in 2022. I have 63 bookmarks and at least 20 of them are stuff like this that I saved for reasons I can't explain now. What's the oldest bookmark you guys have that you totally forgot the reason for?
