That 4 hour bookmark cleanup snowballed into 2 days of rabbit holes

I sat down last Tuesday to delete like 30 dead tabs from my bookmarks bar and ended up rescuing a 2011 tutorial on rope splicing that took me to a video about whale earwax, has anyone else had a simple cleanup turn into a full weekend archive adventure?

Wait, whale earwax? How deep did that rabbit hole actually go, cause now I'm wondering if you're two tabs away from learning how to date a whale by its wax layers. Did the rope splicing tutorial actually teach you anything, or was it just the gateway drug to a whole archive of nautical nonsense?
