Tried watching a 90s show I missed and it felt slower than I expected

I picked up Twin Peaks last week after hearing everyone rave about it for years, but the pacing felt so dragged out I barely made it through 4 episodes, has anyone else had an older show just not click for them?

Twin Peaks is rough. Try skipping to episode 3, that's where it picks up.

Got through maybe 2 episodes of Twin Peaks myself and gave up. Everyone said it was this huge deal but it felt like watching paint dry with all those random slow shots of trees and coffee. I tried X-Files around the same time and that was just as bad, like they had to fill an hour with 20 minutes of actual plot. The older shows really did have a different rhythm where they let scenes breathe way too long for my attention span. I think our brains got rewired by modern streaming where everything is cut tighter and moves faster. Sometimes I wonder if these shows were better when you had nothing else to compare them to.
