I swore off Korean dramas for years, then my wife forced me to watch one
I used to think all K-dramas were just the same love triangle nonsense with a soundtrack that never stops. My wife kept nagging me for like two years to try one, and I always rolled my eyes. Last month she put on 'Reply 1988' without asking and I was annoyed for the first 15 minutes, then somehow I was crying during episode 3 about a family's rice cake delivery. It's not even about romance, it's about a whole neighborhood of families in this one Seoul alley in 1988, and the characters feel like people I grew up with. I binged all 20 episodes in four days, which was brutal since each one is like 90 minutes, and I called in sick once just to finish it. The twist is that I now have a list of like 12 more dramas saved, and I keep trying to convince my buddy at the gym to give them a shot. Has anyone else been converted by a show they completely wrote off, or am I just the last one to get it?

Admit it, you're just mad your wife was right about something so loudly.
