Tool boxes seem heavier with all the new adapter sets needed now
Back in the day, a basic wrench set could fix almost any bike on the street. Now, it feels like every brand has its own weird bolt or connector... I had to order three different tools just for one repair last week. It just makes me think about how much simpler things used to be. Sometimes I wonder if all this complexity is really making bikes better.

My toolbox is basically a museum of obsolete tools at this point. Got a whole drawer dedicated to random hex keys and weird torque bits for parts that don't even exist anymore. Pretty sure my old 10mm socket is the only thing that still gets regular use. The rest is just dead weight for my bench press.

Read a blog post by a retired mechanic in Texas. He called his tool cabinet a graveyard for specialty sockets. Your hex key drawer reminds me of that. Got a similar collection of oddball bits myself. They pile up from old bikes and appliances. Never have the heart to toss them out. That 10mm socket is the real workhorse though.

Think my tools are older than yours, @gavinj48?
