Warning: pitched the tempo down 15% on a broken drum loop and it turned into a real song
Honestly I sat on this beat for like 3 weeks because the drums sounded like a dishwasher falling down stairs. Ngl I almost deleted the whole session, but then I dragged the tempo slider from 128 down to 109 just to hear what would happen. Suddenly the same goofy pattern sounded like some old funk record, and the rapper I sent it to at 2am texted back "what is this, send the stems." So now I bounce every bad loop slow before I trash it, takes 10 seconds and costs nothing. Has anyone else saved a garbage beat just by messing with the BPM instead of rewriting it?
