Unpopular opinion: my buddy's busted karaoke machine from 2009 makes better beats than my $400 sampler

I used to spend hours chopping samples on my MPC and getting everything clean, but now I just let his machine glitch out on the same 4 second loop for 10 minutes and it sounds way better. The pitch wobble alone is nastier than anything I've paid for. Anybody else got a piece of broken gear that turned into their main sound?
