That track 'Smooth Operator' my buddy made in his basement

Last month my neighbor Dave pulled me into his garage to hear his new song, and the beat was just a broken Casio keyboard loop with him shouting 'smooth operator' over and over off-key. Halfway through his mic stand collapsed and he just kept singing on the floor without missing a beat. Has anyone else got a friend who insists their garbage song is the next big hit?

Did you catch that thing the other week about musicians recording in weird places... I saw a clip of some guy tracking vocals in a walk in freezer to get that reverb. Honestly it sounds like your buddy Dave might be onto something with the whole collapsing mic stand thing... maybe it adds character to the track. I'd probably just let him have his moment in the garage though, you know how it is with friends and their music.

Dave probably thinks that collapsed mic stand moment is gonna be legendary on TikTok someday. Throwing a crappy Casio loop with off key yelling is just that basement magic right there. Tell him to lean into the chaos, maybe record the stand falling on purpose next time. That's how you get that raw, unfiltered garage sound.
