Talking to a drummer made me hear the clams differently
Honestly, I was laughing at this track with a drum machine that sounds like someone dropping a bag of forks and my buddy, who actually plays drums, said 'that's the whole point, it's pure rhythm.' He broke down how the off-beat hi-hats and sloppy snare flams are actually what make it stick in your head. Now I can't unhear it, so has anyone else had a musician friend turn a 'so bad it's good' beat into something you genuinely respect?

That "bag of forks" thing is funny because my roommate in college was a jazz drum major and he ruined a bunch of lo-fi stuff for me the same way, kept pausing tracks to point at ghost notes I never would've caught. Now I catch myself tapping out those same "mistakes" on my steering wheel at red lights.
