Last Saturday I hit a garage sale near Tulsa and found two cassettes for a buck each, one had a slick printed cover and the other was a plain white label with handwriting that just said "BEATS 4 U". I picked the white one thinking it would be a joke, and turns out it is a guy rapping over a broken drum machine loop that skips every 4 bars, and I have listened to it 11 times now. The slick cover tape was just smooth jazz, so I gave it to my neighbor. The skip in the loop somehow lands on the beat in a way that kind of works. Has anyone else grabbed a random hand labeled tape and found a weird gem?
