Shoutout to the librarian in Tucson who made me rethink what a good link even is
For years I thought the best links were the ones with the most upvotes or the flashiest headlines, and I'd share stuff without even opening it. Last Tuesday I was at the main library in Tucson for a talk on local history and the librarian pulled up a plain city archive page from 1998 with no images at all. She said "this one link answered more of my questions than a hundred listicles ever did" and I sat there kind of embarrassed about my own posting habits. I went home and read the whole thing, and it had 3 citations and a scanned map that actually explained why my street is shaped so weird. Now I want links that teach me something, not just links that look cool. What's the most boring looking link that turned out to be the best thing you read this week?
