My offset smoker firebox door warped after 4 years of heavy use
Last weekend in Nashville I fired up my offset for a brisket cook and the firebox door wouldn't close flush anymore. It warped so bad there was a half inch gap at the top, and I lost heat control all night. I tried bending it back with vice grips but that only made it worse. Ended up finishing the cook with a wet towel shoved in the gap, which worked okay but felt sketchy. Anyone else had a firebox door warp on them, and did you replace it or get a whole new smoker?

Stuff like this always seems to happen right when you need it most. Reminds me of how everything from truck tailgates to lawnmower decks starts to give out at the worst time, and you end up fixing it in the dark with whatever is in the garage.
