Took me 11 days to fix a hum in my Tascam 424 that turned out to be one stupid cable
Recorded a whole EP of demos in my buddy's garage in Akron and this low buzz sat under every single track. I re-soldered jacks, swapped tubes, moved the whole setup to a different outlet, all of it. Day 11 I finally unplugged the RCA cable running from my mixer and the hum vanished, turns out it was just a bad ground in a $6 cable I got at a flea market. Anyone else ever chase a noise for a week plus and feel like a total idiot after?
