My $15 cassette player from a Goodwill in Boise ate my only copy of a mixtape last Tuesday
I was digitizing old tapes in my kitchen last Tuesday and the cheap deck chewed up a mixtape my friend made for me in 1999, so I opened it up and tried to splice the tape back with scotch tape and a butter knife. It plays now but the sound wobbles on side B, and I'm wondering if a rubber band fix on the belt would actually help or just make it worse. Should I just hunt for another $15 deck at thrift stores or try to repair this one?

Did you really think a butter knife and scotch tape was gonna fix it lol? The rubber band trick might get you a little more life out of it but honestly the belt is probably stretched anyway. For 15 bucks just grab another deck at Goodwill and keep this one for parts.
