Old timer told me to never use clippers on wet hair and I learned the hard way

Had this guy in my chair last Thursday with soaking wet hair from the rain, and I figured I'd just dry it off a little and go for it. Big mistake. The clippers started pulling and skipping so bad I nearly ruined his fade line. Took me an extra 20 minutes to fix the mess and he was not happy. Has anyone else ignored that basic rule and paid for it?

Learned this one myself a few months back when I was in a rush and thought I could get away with it. The blades just clogged up and started grabbing at the hair instead of cutting clean, and I ended up with a choppy mess that took forever to even out. Wet hair is no joke with clippers, it's basically asking for trouble.

Read an article from a barber once who said dry cutting is basically the only way to go with clippers, especially on thick or curly hair. Something about the moisture making the hair expand and stick together so it clogs the blades way faster. Always dry mine off with a towel first now before I even think about reaching for the clippers.
