Figured out a faster way to fade without messing up the blend

I was spending like 20 minutes on a mid fade for a client last week in Austin and it just wasn't coming together smooth. Tried flicking out at the bottom of the guidelines with a 1.5 guard open instead of my usual clipper over comb method. It cut my time to 12 minutes and the blend looked way cleaner with less back and forth. Has anyone else tried flipping their guard order to speed things up?

So did you try the 1.5 guard open on the bottom guideline or something else? I've been doing a similar trick for about six months now and it's been a game changer for my fades. I used to spend forever chasing that blend with clipper over comb and it always left me going back and forth way too much. Flicking out with a half guard open at the bottom of the guidelines cuts down my touch up time by almost half. The weight line disappears way faster and I don't have to fight with the trimmer as much.

Try a 0 guard with the lever halfway next time. It blends tricky spots like magic.
