Clipper blade just locked up on me mid-fade
Was working on a kid's high fade this afternoon and my Wahl Legend just stopped mid-stroke. Wouldn't budge. Had to switch to my backup and finish with trimmers. Anyone else had a clipper die on them at the worst time?

Did you have the clipper running hot before it seized up? A buddy of mine had the exact same thing happen with his Wahl Legend a few months back. He was doing a full head of thick hair, and about halfway through the fade it just locked solid. He said it made a grinding noise first, then nothing. He tried oiling it right there but it was too late, the motor was gone. Ended up having to send it in for repair and it set him back almost forty bucks.

wait forty bucks just for a repair on a Wahl Legend? that's crazy man. @webb.christopher i remember when you could just buy a new set of blades for like fifteen dollars and be good to go. i had a Wahl that got hot on me once doing a full head of thick curly hair, but i was smart enough to stop and oil it before it locked up. your buddy probably pushed it too hard without letting it cool down, those motors just burn out if you don't give them a break.
