My neighbor's sourdough comment made me question my whole rise time
Tbh, she watched me dump a failed loaf and said 'your starter looks hungry, not dead', so I fed it for 3 days straight and finally got that oven spring. Has anyone else been humbled by a simple observation like that when you were ready to quit?
