Why does nobody warn you that a sleeping pill at 2am turns a grocery list into a face
I was half asleep at my kitchen table in Reno last Tuesday and drew my shopping list on the back of a receipt, and by morning the bananas had eyes and the milk was screaming. Now I keep a sketchbook by the kettle so the weird stuff has somewhere to go, but does anyone else save the scary ones or just toss them?
Tossed the bad ones for years until my sister told me to keep a folder just for the creepy stuff. Now I have a beat up manila envelope in a drawer labeled "do not open before coffee." Every few months I flip through and the scary ones have lost their bite, mostly they just look like scribbles from a tired brain. The ones that still get me are the ones where I clearly tried to fix it while still half asleep and made it worse. So I keep those too, because at least they are funny in the morning.
