The diner in Sandusky had 14 crayon drawings taped to the wall and I can't decide if it's charming or a crime
Stopped at a diner off Route 6 in Sandusky last Friday around 1am after a long drive back, and the whole back wall was covered in kid drawings done on placemats, taped up crooked with masking tape. Some were actually pretty great, like this one crab with way too many legs that had real attitude, and some were just scribbles with a date scratched in the corner, like June 2019. I sat there for like 20 minutes waiting on my grilled cheese trying to decide how I felt about it. One side of me says it's a sweet little museum of half asleep weirdos and it makes the place feel lived in. The other side says it's just clutter nobody ever clears out, and half of them are so faded you can't tell what they are anymore. The waitress caught me staring and said regulars bring them in on purpose now, which honestly tipped me toward the charming side. Is a wall of random drawings a good thing or does it just mean nobody throws anything away? Curious where people land on this.
