Just realized my 2 a.m. cat drawing actually looks like a potato

I was at my desk at like 2 in the morning last week doodling my cat Mittens and I thought I was making art. Then I looked at it the next day and it's just a lumpy oval with whiskers. It's so bad it's funny now and I'm actually starting to like it for how stupid it looks. Has anyone else had a late-night drawing turn into something totally different?

Oh man, I've definitely been there. What I do now is save those late night doodles in a folder and look at them a week later instead of deleting them right away - some of them end up being my favorites just because they're so off. The key is to lean into the potato-ness and maybe even try drawing it again on purpose, that's how you end up with a funny little character.
