Bought a $40 'glow in the dark' paint set and it barely works, my 2am art project is now just sad

Middle of the night, all my normal supplies are downstairs near my stacks of boxes so I grabbed a cheap set of this brand online. Charged it under a lamp for an hour, painted this little ghost on a canvas. Lights out? Nothing. Barely a green smudge. Shoulda just used white paint and a blacklight for less. Anyone else get tricked by bargain art supplies that sound cool but flop?
