Warning: spent 5 hours on a flap position fault because I skipped the WD-40 step
Three weeks ago at our hangar in Wichita I chased an intermittent flap disagree for half a shift, swapping the position sensor and ohm-ing every pin in the harness before a 30 year guy asked if I had cleaned and lubed the actuator rod end. Two sprays of WD-40 and it passed the rig check first try. What simple step do you guys always forget when the fault looks electrical but ends up being mechanical?
