Threw $200 at a fancy crimper, went right back to the $15 one
Last month in Denver I bought a brand name crimper with the ratchet action and all that, but after 20 terminals it kept skipping and crushing my pins. My cheap manual tool from the supply closet has done 300 splices without a single bad pull test. Anyone else have a "premium" tool that just made your job slower?

Funny how that works out. My buddy swore by this $120 torque wrench set he got for his brake work, but every time I borrowed it the click mechanism felt off and I kept second guessing myself. He finally let me use his old harbor freight one and I did the whole job way faster and calmer. Now I just buy the cheap stuff and if it breaks twice, then I'll splurge. Though I did buy a nice set of wire strippers once for like $40 and those actually did make a difference, so the rule isn't perfect.
