Rant: Hit 10,000 wire terminations on one aircraft and still found a cold solder joint

Spent three months rewiring a Gulfstream G450 and when I finally hit that milestone, QA flagged a single joint I’d done back on panel 4-got me wondering how many more are hiding in there, anyone else ever hit a big number and realize perfection is a joke?

Perfect is a moving target no matter what you're doing. In my experience, even when you triple check everything, a tiny flaw always slips through the cracks somewhere. It's less about hitting perfection and more about how you handle finding the cracks.

Oh man, isn't that the truth though? I spent a whole weekend painting a bookshelf last year, taking my time, sanding between coats, felt like I was being super careful. Then the next morning I noticed this one little drip right on the front edge that I somehow missed completely the day before. It was staring me right in the face but I'd walked past it a dozen times without seeing it.
