DAE still chasing intermittent faults the old way or do you just swap boxes now?
Had a 737 come in with a flap indication that would only pop up above 15,000 feet, and after two days of wiggling harnesses with the plane on jacks I finally found a chafed wire behind a clamp near the wheel well. My lead wanted to just swap the FSEU and send it, but something about the way it only showed up cold made me keep digging. The swap would have taken 40 minutes and mine took two days, so I get his side, but the wire was rubbing bare and it would have come back in a week. Do you guys go after the root cause on stuff like this or is box swapping just the smarter play when the clock is ticking?

Back at my old shop we had a guy named Dale who spent a week on a fuel gauge that only acted up on right turns, turns out a screw had backed out and was rolling across a terminal strip. He found it with a flashlight and a mirror, no test box at all, and the fix was one screw. The lead there gave him grief the whole time too, but that plane never came back for it.
