A retired Gulfstream mech told me he never trusts a fault code until he wiggles every cannon plug by hand
I was dropping off a pitot static tester at the shop on Tuesday and got talking to this guy named Dale who did Gulfstreams out of Savannah for 31 years. He told me a story about a cabin pressure fault that three guys chased through the controller and the outflow valve, and it turned out to be a single pin in a cannon plug that only lost contact when the airframe was warm. He said "the box will lie to you, but your fingers won't," and now I do a wiggle check before I even pull a code. Anyone else have a mentor drill a habit into them that sounds like voodoo but keeps saving your tail?
