Saw a guy in a Walmart parking lot in Amarillo rebuild a carb on a folding table
He had the whole thing apart on a towel with like 12 little parts laid out in order and told me he does it right there because his apartment won't let him work on cars, which honestly made me rethink where I do my own wrenching.

Man, that takes me back. I used to do my oil changes in the parking lot of my old apartment complex at like 7am on Saturdays, trying to be quiet so nobody would call the office on me. Got real good at laying down cardboard and getting everything done in under 30 minutes. There was this one guy who'd pull up next to me with his own jack and we'd just nod at each other like we were in some secret club. Your mileage may vary but honestly some of my best driveway-less wrenching happened in a random parking spot with a coffee and a folding chair. That Walmart guy has it figured out, towels and all.
