Rant: the dispatcher sent my car hauler to a cul-de-sac in Vermont and we caused a 6 car traffic jam
Last month I accepted a run picking up a restored 1969 Camaro in a tiny town outside Burlington, Vermont, and the address looked fine on paper until I pulled up and saw it was a dead end street with maybe 12 feet of turnaround space. My trailer is 75 feet long, so I sat there for 20 minutes trying to back out while a guy in a Subaru honked like I was doing it on purpose. The seller came out laughing and said the last carrier refused the pickup entirely, which honestly I wish he had mentioned before I drove 4 hours. I ended up unhooking the trailer, using his neighbor's driveway as a pivot point, and we got it loaded with about 6 inches to spare on each side. Cost me an extra hour and a half and I missed my next window, but the car arrived in Ohio the next day with zero scratches. Does anyone else get these surprise addresses where the map makes it look like a normal street and it turns out to be a goat path?
